If you like heat, you NEED this chili. Rocoto’s are the coolest Peruvian chili variety! The plants sport furry leaves, and purple flowers that remind you of potato plants. They thrive in cooler weather, can handle light frost and even continue producing throughout winter in frost-free areas. They are truly perennial, and will grow quite large, resembling shrubby trees, more than pepper plants. The fruits are magnificent, thick-walled and packed with flavor like we have never experienced in a chili before. They are hotter than a Jalapeno, but the heat can be dramatically decreased in a pickle or a fermented sauce. A truly life-changing experience.
